I worked with the Ralph W. Voorhees Center for Civic Engagement to understand how emergency food providers in Middlesex County, New Jersey, changed their practices during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. The report looks at how food pantries navigated challenges related to food demand, supply, and distribution, and highlights the experiences of individual pantries. I interviewed about a dozen food pantry and food bank directors and helped summarize the results for inclusion in the report. The full report can be read here.
